SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO “GEAUX FAUX”

I love fresh flowers, but sometimes I don’t have the time or warning to buy them at the flower shop or grocery store.  Really, though, I’m not good at keeping anything alive.

Here’s a great tip…buy great faux flowers, have a florist vase in your pantry, add real water and you’re done. No one will know the difference!

You can buy great faux flowers and succulents online, at nurseries, flower shops and sometimes at discount stores.  This is my favorite…a big clam shell from an estate sale with faux succulents from a  nursery.

Orchids are the easiest.  Pot them, add moss and you’re done. This started out with the beautiful leaves to my dying orchid.  After I totally killed the poor plant, I left it and no one has commented yet. Ha!

I keep several sizes of glass or lucite bases.  Place the vase on a base and it “elevates” whatever is on it and makes it look more important.

Get creative!  I’ve learned to do it once, do it right. Switch them out often and nobody will know the difference.

Cheers to your best fakes!
