I love ALL cheeses\u2026.soft, hard, gooey, mild &amp; stinky. If I didn\u2019t do Estate Sales, I would be a cheesemonger.\u00a0 When I go into a cheese shop I obsess over which cheeses to buy.\u00a0 I wish there was a store like Costco just for cheese so I could sample everything!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Presentation is all smoke and mirrors but it has to look amazing. Great cheese boards need to be inviting to make guests want to gather and graze.\u00a0 Think out of the box.\u00a0 There are no rules and you can\u2019t mess it up. Be creative and\u00a0 have fun.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/GSkShi6kcKCRySgU9wRpx61Pv1Bes8C-pb86kR5h6ynfBRhn3GzRahBXIpFxz7FSis3ka4yhCPSHsNC479AdQVsPPTxI5Oqxba3wUW0UnWlgMywns8CU7b2H-eSgz7DMUYG2N79X\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Go for color and variety.\u00a0 Grapes, blueberries, honeycomb, ch\u00e8vre, Spanish drunken goat cheese with purple casing, dates, figs, cashews, roasted red bell peppers and salami create an impressive board.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/zimuUr3kCOWy8VPo_udEUoM9qMBUFlqWMjA0p5aGhCe8JNheHaEAF-ES3JMyFp9VezJ6dbkQOo1aRTpmwUNoWbAXxt3zri6kTTs84TtXAGWmJ4QTsyLgShEE0IhuH_S3NmaUOUnl\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This isn\u2019t really a cheese board, but you get the idea. Gather long rosemary stems.\u00a0 Remove the sprigs from the bottom two thirds.\u00a0 Skewer cherry tomatoes and small mozzarella balls.\u00a0 I like to marinate my mozzarella in aged Balsamic vinegar.\u00a0 It gives them a sweet taste. This takes about 10 minutes and it\u2019s colorful like an Italian Flag.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/FT36dP-34xfMHHMbVv5C0T-MbUHfurstmrZOPZ2LDTNt2QAiV00RCVomfB3-Unz56Uq1S_YfYEXeOS3bzPp786eU2ZH1E-KNHh2x6xDnCCysmcSjle7IQO80sKua0dFr2ddBmQM-\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Keep it simple!\u00a0 We needed a quick cheese board for a party in a friend\u2019s retail store last year. Trader Joe\u2019s to the rescue! Everything was pre-packaged and ready to go. We used plates from the store\u2019s kitchen and garnished them with colorful pears, persimmons and rosemary picked from a bush outside.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>TIPS FOR CREATING A GREAT CHEESE BOARD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Presentation matters! Choose a great cutting board, a piece of marble, a piece of slate, an interesting plate, a mirror, a tray a or a piece of wood &#8211; think out of the box and get creative.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Visit a store that sells high end cheeses.\u00a0 Taste a few before you buy and listen to the recommendations of the cheese experts who work there.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Some of my favorite cheeses:\u00a0 Humboldt Fog Goat Cheese, French Triple Cream Brie, Manchego, Dutch Smoked Gouda, any type of Chevre (soft goat cheese), Black Truffle Sheep\u2019s Milk Cheese, White English Cheddar, Parmesano Reggiano, any Bleu Cheese, Fontinella, Greek Feta.\u00a0 For me\u2026.the more exotic the better.\u00a0 If you like it, your friends who are cheese lovers will like it and appreciate the attention to detail and thought you\u2019ve put into your cheese board.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>You can do an outstanding cheese board without spending a lot. Trader Joe\u2019s and Costco have some amazing cheeses, nuts, olives, peppers, fruits and garnishes. Here&#8217;s a great post about which cheeses to look for at Trader Joe&#8217;s as well. <a href=\"https:\/\/food52.com\/blog\/24892-best-trader-joes-cheese\">Food52.com\/traderjoes cheese<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Some things I always have on a cheese board:\u00a0 soft cheese, hard cheese, some kind of meat, something sweet (honeycomb is my favorite), something tangy like olives or peppers, dried or fresh fruit, grapes or nuts.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Add pops of color with rosemary, basil, whole fruits, colorful vegetables or edible flowers.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/Ep8vCv-U5m9vB6wBQ0fMK27Dngn0IUdo5SDmPjhejCryBpSzbAqg8Nn_OiDRsh9slv7puo-xRzVhMWldAQ__AHu5l_CkOw6wO_TCiqXDLl_pke9q8YoaSYdhaJr4c08WWnGPL4qm\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>It doesn\u2019t even have to be a cheese board&#8230;it can be a dessert board.\u00a0 Above is one of my favorites: caramel sea salt popcorn, meringues, Linzer cookies, vanilla cookies, gummies and chocolate covered almonds.\u00a0 You could use mini cookies, chocolates, donut holes, M&amp;M\u2019s, Reese\u2019s or anything else.\u00a0 Maybe you should have saved that Halloween candy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/c62e1IqnEFqRcw4n9U7INqaiiYWsKvce76uQad9oQAdZWL8-oRnqMd8jiFkbPvzBQ_oFEWCmWuLglQGsCiDJifAyFb0D8hHEIgTuOa9ghDkICKCqYrO4nAhrCNsn0O7b99OrleuY\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Go to Estate Sales, garage sales or thrift stores and buy one of a kind things to make your board interesting.\u00a0 Dig through your closets. Everything above came from a thrift store&#8230;the 80\u2019s \u201cDisco\u201d wine glass, a vintage owl candle, marble vase, 70\u2019s Mexican blown glass bowl and the gold tray.\u00a0 Get creative. (Disclaimer here&#8230;the grapes are plastic).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/jPYcLU1EHncwFzldeG_V506HGWu9Jx4i0oaZpGA7y4OxNSfaWB9lFmNEtvLIkd0nx6svLz677Pqp3oM9lyIYckLYL8IPl_t7WpDYSbiI89Etqy2y1QMMayYXCLY_dcAuxGvEEKlB\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Seasonal is the best.\u00a0 Chop, slice, arrange, add some cheese and it\u2019s a stunning board. Thinly slice and bake potatoes, add any cheese &amp; broil.\u00a0 Garnish with something green like fresh dill or rosemary. Done!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MORE TIPS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Layer your cheese boards.\u00a0 Place the cheese then add fruits, olives, meats and nuts for color and variety.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Put small bowls on the cheese tray and fill with nuts, olives, honey, preserves or dips like pimiento cheese, onion dip or hummus.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Crackers DO matter.\u00a0 Buy really flavorful crackers and have a variety.\u00a0 When you find the perfect cracker, use it all the time.\u00a0 There\u2019s nothing worse than ruining good cheese with bad and boring crackers.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Or slice a baguette, slather with butter or olive oil and broil until the edges are brown.\u00a0 It\u2019s a little more work but your guests will appreciate it and they won\u2019t forget.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/8G8EVCWmS54Y3rmbu5n4mVV7yXS7ORP6yYPVolDMNsIaSyoPOO2nLDKz89atW_QAcmjnEi-DpWFfr71dzBaDk7KsofcmTmoE5x-9MJxgOnIeqHEcSELH0pVgVXW6MBPTKVZB-Qi9\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>My daughters gave me this book for Mother\u2019s Day and I love it.\u00a0 It is a guide to the perfect cheese board with exact instructions on how to put it together.\u00a0 I\u2019m promoting this because I love it!\u00a0 The ABC\u2019s of staging a cheese board.<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatcheeseplate.com\/home\">https:\/\/www.thatcheeseplate.com\/home<\/a><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Let me know your favorite cheeses.\u00a0 I\u2019ll try them.
